About 10-15 yachts can moor stern-to between the slipway and the breakwater. The breakwater itself is reserved for a fishing boat as well as for the fast ferry, which comes every morning and evening. Between the second and thir...
d bollard there is, however, space for one yacht up to 14 m in length. The water depth at the quay is between 2 m (at the boat ramp) and 4 m (towards the breakwater). It gets deeper quickly behind it.
When there is a strong Meltemi wind, severe downbursts fall head-on at an angle. It can get dangerous if the anchor has no adequate hold. There are several taverns and bars in Kamares as well as a small supermarket. Water and electricity is available for a fee (electricity 3 euros per day, 500 l of water cost 3.50 euros). The person responsible for collecting the fees comes around every morning and every evening.
